Yunfeng grunted as he crawled beneath the collapsed ceiling again, trying to find a way through the rubble that separated them from Jai and Shao. Dust filled his throat, the concrete scratching his palms as he forced his way through. But again—just like before—there was no passage. Just more debris, more twisted metal, and no light on the other side.
He groaned in frustration, slamming his fist into the cracked wall beside him.
Then something hit him sharply on the head.
"Ow—what the hell?" he flinched and looked up.
Muchen stood above him, scowling and arms crossed. "It's unstable. You know that," he said coldly, but his hand was already reaching out to help Yunfeng up. "They'll find another way. We will too. Don't be stupid."
Yunfeng stared up at him, dust still clinging to his lashes. "But—"
"We'll find them again." Muchen's voice softened. "Besides… can't you sniff them out?"
