Cherreads

Chapter 6 - Hurt

It's the final day of Pokémon camp, and we're bidding farewell to our friends from different regions.

I have to say, even though it was hard hiding my true identity since I was crossdressed the whole time (and still am), I had a lot of fun and made lots of friends.

"Okay, see you guys."

"Yeah, see you, Len."

"Bye, Len, hope to see you soon."

"Bye, guys. I hope I can see you soon too," I said, waving goodbye with a smile, though deep down I knew it was close to impossible.

Even if we meet again, I don't think they'll recognize me. After all, they know 'Len', not 'Sid'. They're friends with the person I pretended to be.

"Bye, Len, um..."

"What is it, Serena?" I asked, knowing this might be the last time we see each other.

Once she finds out I was crossdressing, she might think I'm a pervert or worse, never want to see me again.

"Can we exchange contact information?" she asked.

"Ah, yes. I don't mind."

I gave her my personal contact info, and she gave me hers.

After they left, I made my way to the main office area of the airport, which is blocked off from the general public.

I approached the contact device in the airport manager's office.

"Hey kid, how did you get in here?" a man asked. He was middle-aged, clean-shaven, with green hair, which, combined with his face made him look a bit funny.

"Can you call Uncle Robert?"

"Are you talking about Mr. Robert? He just got transferred to Anistar City."

"Oh, okay. I'm going to use that contact device," I said, pointing toward it.

"Sorry, miss, but only selected individuals are allowed to use that device."

"You don't need to worry about that," I replied, walking toward the Poképhone.

(Note: I don't know what it's actually called, so I'm going to call it the Poképhone.)

"Kid, this is your last warning. Don't even touch that phone."

"But that phone was installed here just for me to use."

"Huh? You? You're smaller than my arm. Now get lost before things get ugly," he said in a mocking tone.

Ignoring him, I stepped forward toward the phone. As I touched it, I felt a force shove me backward. He had thrown me using brute strength, and I hit the ground, grunting in pain.

"I warned you, kiddo. Now—"

"How dare you hurt my child?" a thunderous voice boomed behind us. My dad had arrived.

"M-Mr. R-Roy, is she y-your child?" the man stammered, trembling.

"Yes, this is my child. Do you have a problem with that?" Dad asked as he picked me up.

"N-No, sir. Sorry, sir."

"Good. Mr. Cristofer, you are dismissed."

"S-Sir?"

"You'll receive your dismissal letter by this evening."

"Sorry, sir. I didn't know she was your child, or..."

"Or what, Mr. Cristofer? Would you have hit someone else's kid even after knowing it's a criminal offense?"

"No, sir. I'm very sorry."

"You should be grateful I'm only dismissing you. If her mother had heard about this, you wouldn't want to imagine what she would do."

"Yes, thank you, sir. I'm truly grateful," the man said, bowing repeatedly. He didn't even notice that Dad used "his" instead of "her", he was too panicked to catch it.

"Are you alright?" Dad asked.

.

"Yes, I'm fine," I replied as we left for home.

Ah, it's nice to be back. No matter where I go, there's no place like home, except maybe my mom's embrace.

When we arrived, Dad placed me on the sofa and checked on me.

"I'm fine, Dad. No need for all this fuss," I said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"There are no visible injuries, but maybe I should call a doctor to check for internal ones."

"I told you I'm fine."

"Okay, okay. But if you start to feel uncomfortable, just let me know. And if your mom asks about this..."

"Don't worry. I won't tell her," I replied, cutting him off.

"Good. I have a very understanding daughter."

"Daaaad..."

"Hahaha," he laughed. He always does that whenever he gets a chance to tease me.

"By the way, Dad, is it true what I heard about Mom?"

"What's that?"

"That she's an aggressive woman?"

"Yeah, she gets angry pretty easily."

"Really?" I asked again. I hadn't seen her angry even once since my reincarnation.

"Yes, really. And that's actually one of the things I like about her.

You see, I'm a calm person, and she's fiery. Opposites attract."

"Yeah, yeah, sure. I bet you married her because she's really beautiful."

"You little brat, your tongue's gotten sharper, Miss Len."

"Should I complain to Mom about you?"

"No, no, anything but that!" Dad responded immediately. Looks like he's really afraid of her. Good. Now I know how to make him stop teasing me.

Later, we went to check on my Pokémon. As soon as they saw me, they practically jumped at me until Dad told them I was hurt.

When they heard that, they started caressing me and even offered berries from their own share of food, only to be told that it wasn't serious.

They all seemed relieved once they knew I was okay.

"By the way, Sid, I wanted to tell you something. I didn't get the chance before you left for Pokémon camp."

"Yeah? Go ahead."

"Hmm... come to think of it, I haven't even told your mom. I'll tell you at dinner."

"Oh, okay. I'm fine with that."

.

That evening, Mom came home from work. As soon as she saw me, she hugged me tightly.

"I missed you, my baby."

"I missed you too, Mom," I said, hugging her back.

We stayed in that embrace for who knows how long before she finally let go—only to scoop me up in her arms again.

We talked about Pokémon camp for a long time, until Mom said something I didn't like... but couldn't do anything about.
