August may have found himself in a more favorable situation, but he did not kid himself into thinking that such an opportunity was provided to him on a silver platter. Several times throughout this second life of his, he had encountered perilous situations that would have ended the life of any ordinary individual. It was because he was able to triumph over and rise above those circumstances that he could occupy the position he was in now, where everyone had to forcibly acknowledge his ability.
In comparison to him, Larcade was not as successful. However, August was never one to focus solely on appearances and results. Larcade was still very useful in his eyes.
