"Pope, can you handle so many?" Charles asked.
"Light God above, just try to keep up as best as you can! I don't know how long the aura will last." The Pope said and promptly floated upward.
The tentacles started moving, rapidly surrounding them, but as the golden light in the Pope's eyes flickered on and off, the tentacles swiftly dissipated.
"Hurry and follow, no one fall behind!"
Descending the spiral staircase was easy, but climbing back up was tough.
Adding to this the sweltering heat, it wasn't long before the crew looked as if they had been fished out of water.
But even so, they didn't dare to linger even slightly, desperately rushing upwards.
It was for no other reason than the tentacles re-growing below them.
"Bandage! Hold on!" Charles forcefully dragged the lagging First Officer, who was out of it and moving the slowest.
