At this point, Charles' voice took on a hint of excitement. "But if nothing is wrong on Earth's surface, we could return to modern society, and by then—"
Anna ruthlessly interrupted Charles' optimistic musings. "By then, we'll talk about it then. First, get your eyes treated. Seeing you like this breaks my heart."
Charles felt two palm-sized boxes being stuffed into his hands. "What's inside?"
"Open it and feel around with your hands, then you'll know."
Charles opened one of the boxes, reached in, and immediately felt something soft with many legs, which quickly shifted.
The next second, Charles felt a pain in his fingers; he had been bitten. "Is this a Spider?"
"Do you want to forget about your dear old eye? Since she can serve as an eye, you can too. I made a special trip to Icha Island and stole two for you. Icha Island, pah, what a ridiculous name."
