Walking down the main road Adam leads the charge he seems calm and collected, and he walks forward into the unknown. His back was as large as ever as if to shield us from whatever was in front of us. The main street under the night sky was lightly speckled with stars and their light. We walked in the silence for half an hour but there was no sound to speak. Then they appeared 6 of them standing at the end of the road, five in their true bodies wielding their flaming weapons and framing the one, still in its human guise as he walked unworried before us.
"Would you like to meet him living or as a corpse?" The demon said with no hint of tone or emotion it was flat and sharp, dangerous.
"Alive if that's an option." Adam replied coyly, searching for a reaction from the demon but with little to no effect.
"Follow then." The demon replied curtly without reacting to Adam. He turned and started to walk slowly, in reaction the five framing the speaker moved and began to frame us, two on either side, by Adam and Hannah, and one behind where I was. Mandella was the most well-protected of us and as we started walking so did they.
The night seemed even more dead than before, with no wind, no sound, not even the smell of the street or the chill of night. As we continued our walk the silence was oppressive but not the worse.
"Remember Joshua I have a debt to pay don't do anything till I say to." The grating voice in my head made it hard to think of anything going the way we wanted. All I could think in response was a simple No.
"No, Sadly Joshua you don't get to say no this time." After that, it went silent again its words clawing in the back of my mind. The silence inside is more oppressive than the silence outside.
The Demons were standing out in front of a massive crowd of people many I recognized from just walking the streets and many more I didn't. He was standing flanked by 3 Transformed demons with drawn swords. Two on the left and 1 on the right, our lead joined him on the right side taking the inner post before transforming and drawing his flaming sword. Our demon escorts all moved to join my back. 5 ahead and 5 behind, and with the buildings framing we were in a killbox. The Red Man moved slowly and deliberately forward but unlike before where it seemed as smooth as flowing water it was now choppy and Brash, like a gear rusted over.
"Ahhh, Hello there, the, the, the Bright Stars yes and, oh, young Joshua Prince how have you been we haven't seen each other since last week?" His tone was more grating and harsh than I remembered more venomous than before. I don't want to reply, I don't want to speak, but before I do Adam takes over.
"He decided it was time for better company." Adam's reply meant to provoke the demon was ineffective seeming to only put a smile on its face.
"What a shame, he wouldn't be the first to choose to stand by my side." His words pointed and seemed to be pointed, to cut. As if waiting for that three people came out of the crowd and made their way in front. Two girls and one guy. The leader left their group a tall-haired Indian girl walked forward as the other two walked behind her before holding each other's hands. Hannah began crying, covering her mouth and muffled her cries.
"Adam, Hannah, please just listen to him he has a point, they made all of us, we are..." she was harshly cut off by a horizontal blood slash bisected the three of them cleanly at the hips they fell apart. The slash was deftly blocked by the two demons right next to The Red Man so not a drop of red aura got within a few centimeters of his suit.
"Happy." Sam continued as if nothing had happened. But before he could continue The Red Man raised his hand and the three stilled as if they had their strings cut.
"Dink jy ek kan nie die verskil onderskei tussen my vriende en lykpoppe nie!" the rage that burst out from him turned him a deep scarlet as his blade dripped with fake blood. The two demons that didn't block flew out from his far side towards us there Flaming weapons burned silently and closed the distance. But half a step was all Adam needed as he disappeared and in a blur of red and grey, they found nothing but air. The Two demons that had previously blocked his slash were unable to block him now. Droplets of blood were burnt away in the sulfurous wind as the summoned staff of the red man intercepted Adams's Blood Slash and sword strikes deftly. But his smite was what broke threw launching the red demon back towards the group of people, but the momentum of stike was used by him, as The Red Man took off into the sky like a rocket using the distance to his advantage as a deluge of sulfurous wind fell. Hannah Burst with her shrouding green area covered the mass of people and separated the five demons at my back but it left other the four demons inside the box. The aura shuddered under the powerful attack as two demons that went for Adam shift to Hannah and the two that let Adam slip past quickly closed the distance to him.
""The hand of the witnesses shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So you shall purge the evil from your midst."" Mandellas chant quickly and the four demons were brought to there knees and that moment wasnt missed. Adam launched throught the barrier and made his way towards the flying demon. Two red meteorites rose into the sky as Adam started to close the distance between them with a massive aura attack. It spread out from him and engulfed the distance between them in an instant.
