Chapter 713 - Chapter 712: Even Sorcerers Have to Brawl

Doctor Strange suddenly flew into a rage, furiously accusing Mordo of being jealous of the Stephen from this universe and framing him, ultimately leading to his death.

Mordo scoffed, his face full of disdain—but the fury in his eyes only burned brighter. At last, he snapped and shouted back, "You don't know a damn thing about this universe!"

Stephen didn't back down. He shouted in return, "Now I get it! Killing the Stephen of this universe was your ticket to becoming the Sorcerer Supreme and joining the Illuminati!"

With Strange's relentless taunting, Mordo finally lost control. Roaring, he yelled, "Then I'll carry out my vote personally!"

He unsheathed the longsword strapped to his back. Magical runes flickered along the blade, glowing with a golden light. Gripping the hilt in both hands, he leapt from the platform with a battle cry, swinging straight at Stephen!

But even though Stephen's back was turned, his face had none of the previous emotion—only calm.

Anyone paying attention could tell that Stephen had been provoking Mordo on purpose. His goal was to force Mordo into attacking—so he could 'help' him break free.

After Charles's earlier statement, if Stephen had simply turned and left, Mordo probably wouldn't have stopped him. But there was one problem—Stephen's hands were still shackled. The restraints not only sealed his magic but also restricted his movements. Even if he escaped, he wouldn't stand a chance against Wanda—not like this.

That's why he baited Mordo—hoping to use his fury to destroy the shackles. Of course, it didn't hurt that he probably wanted to give Mordo a good beating too.

Sure enough, when Mordo came swinging, Stephen was ready. He spun around and blocked the blade with his shackled arms. After a few exchanges, he was knocked backward—but in the skirmish, one of the shackles had come loose.

He landed on the ground and kept his broken shackle hidden. When Mordo grabbed him, convinced of his victory and about to stab him, Stephen suddenly struck—snapping the freed shackle around Mordo's wrist!

Immediately, Mordo's enchanted sword lost its edge, and his magic was sealed. With no magic left, the two Sorcerer Supremes dropped all pretense and started brawling—trading punches and kicks like street fighters. It was a bizarre but entertaining sight.

Outside the screen, Pietro couldn't help but laugh. "Stephen, you've got some decent moves. Been training on the side, huh? Watching sorcerers brawl is actually pretty fun. Better than watching street thugs, at least."

Stephen rolled his eyes. "Kamar-Taj doesn't just teach magic, Pietro. And believe me—if we fought without powers, just fists, I'd drop you flat."

Pietro grinned. "Was that a challenge? I might take you up on that someday."

In the video, the fight raged on. But in the end, Stephen's skill won out. He emerged victorious from the close-quarters battle.

As he turned and walked away, Mordo yelled bitterly, "Now I understand why the Mordo in your universe hates you so much!"

Stephen didn't even look back—he was already running.

Elsewhere, Wanda had finished off the last person in her way and was casually making her way toward America.

Christine was frantic, but she refused to abandon the mysterious girl. She grabbed a fire extinguisher and tried to smash the glass cell.

But the glass was incredibly strong—it wouldn't break that easily. In the end, America had to rely on herself. By accident, she once again tapped into the strange power inside her and punched the glass so hard it cracked like a spiderweb.

Before she could hit it again, Wanda arrived.

"Enough!"

A stern shout rang out.

Professor X had finally arrived. Without wasting words, he immediately activated his telepathy and dove straight into Wanda's mind!

As usual, the one who shows up last is often the trump card. Everyone had already seen from the previous videos in the quiz game just how powerful Charles's psychic abilities were.

He was undoubtedly a master of the mental plane. But Wanda also had a talent for mind control—she had shown signs of it since her earliest days. Her gifts in that area had always left a deep impression.

Now, with two masters of the mind facing off, what would happen?

The camera shifted. Charles entered a pure white world. Here, he no longer needed his wheelchair—he stood and walked upright. This was clearly a representation of his psychic form, and this realm was undoubtedly Wanda's mental world.

Amid the white emptiness, there was a pile of rubble—the remains of what seemed to be a collapsed and ruined house. Only a single wooden door still stood.

Outside the video, Pietro furrowed his brows and guessed, "Could that ruined house be the illusion Wanda created in Westview? Her 'home'?"

Stephen glanced at him. "Most likely. That fantasy house is the last bit of peace Wanda still has left in her heart."

In the video, Charles walked up to the door, glanced warily around, then stepped through. Inside, he found a pile of rubble. Beneath it was a small window, and beside it sat a retro TV—the same model seen in WandaVision's future clips.

As Charles approached, a hand suddenly reached out from the tiny window, startling him so badly it looked like he might have a heart attack on the spot!

Outside the screen, Erik couldn't help mocking, "I've heard that the older you get, the more afraid you are of death. Looks like it applies to you too, Charles."

Charles just shrugged. "Fear is a normal emotion. If you don't feel fear, there's a good chance you have a mental illness."

On the screen, Despite his shock, Charles quickly realized that the frightened Wanda beneath the rubble was the original consciousness—the Wanda of Universe 838.

He stepped forward and grabbed her hand. "Wanda, your mind has been taken over by your other self. Grab my hand. If I can pull you out, the spell should break!"

He braced himself and began pulling with all his might, trying to drag her out.

But just then, a crimson mist began to pour in from behind him, swirling rapidly toward him!

Charles froze. He didn't turn, but he knew something was there. The trapped Wanda saw the scarlet fog and immediately recoiled back into the shadows.
