Chapter 34 - C10 Truths and Lies

(A/N: I lost my transcripts in my phone— I use a writing app called Fabula— when my potato 2018 phone crashed. It's not just the chapters that were lost but, anyways, I still wrote what I remembered and some parts changed. Also, I think my writing changed a bit because of hiatus, I think? ONTO THE CHAPTER YOU GO )

"You are such an airhead! And what's with that behavior earlier? Did you hit your head? You really—"

I am Nanami Yukihime, also called Nathalia, and right now I am being scolded. If you're wondering, yes I'm now dressed in a simple white T-shirt and pants. Without bra though, the cotton is... uncomfortable.

As for why I'm getting scolded? I don't know. My time spent talking with myself for such a long time probably made me... unstable? I'm now much more eccentric and weirder. Maybe that's why I didn't think of just conjuring nital 700 years ago, such a simple solution.

Aside from almost being driven to insanity after 3000 years of darkness, my long nap of 700 years (it felt like an instant) seemed to have given the two I've summoned enough time to advance civilization to a certain period. Impressive.

"Are you listening to me?!"

"YES MA'AM!"

She's scary. I have never seen Julienne make this expression before. She looks like an asura from hell or maybe the devil itself.

"Did you just think of something rude?"

Oh nah, she's practically surrounded by a black fog-like aura. I will be careful to not get on her bad side from now on.

"Fufu~ I guess she was just excited after being freed from her petrification. Most do react like her and some even cry... though not as exaggerated."

CC spoke and tried to mediate between the two of us though I didn't catch the last part of what she said as she just whispered.

'Sasuga CC-sama! That's why you're one of my waifus!'

"Yeah, I was just excited for earlier. I've been asleep for so long it's tiring."

Julienne just continued staring at me with dead fish eyes. Stop! Those eyes are too scary!

"Ahem. What is happening?"

The three of us looked towards the source of the voice standing at the entrance of the room. It was Lelouch, still dressed in his tacky attire he wore when he received me earlier.

"Is that your regular clothing? You are edgy."

Lelouch's lips twitched imperceptibly as he heard her words while CC chuckled seeing Lelouch being called "edgy" by someone much more... eccentric.

CC laughed quite a few more times before she reigned in her chuckles and spoke while wiping the tears from her eyes. She's quite expressive contrary to what I remember.

"Let's discuss something of importance shall we? Can you tell us why you summoned us back then summoner?"

"Yeah, last time I checked you don't have powers or something aside from being the literal Goddess of the Internet. How did you summon these two?"

In response to CC's question, Julienne inquired in turn. I really didn't think this through properly.

(A/N: Neither did I.)

But I can't just say I have an interdimensional system right? Maybe someday but not now. Auughh— how would I explain it vaguely... oh I know!

"Three thousand and seven hundred years ago, humanity was petrified by an unknown threat. The only ones remaining then as far as we knew were the astronauts that remained in space and our own group of four. As for who petrified humanity... we do not know."

For now, I explained the reason of petrification to them first. CC and Lelouch seemed to be surprised by this.

"Your group survived? But then how did you and her..."

"We did avoid the petrification the first time due to an incidental coincidence. But then we met him— How-man."

"Pfftt—"

I looked towards Julienne who was clearly trying to stop her laugh with a dark face. Look at her face reddening.

"I'm seriously talking."

"J-just... continue... pfft—!"

I clicked my tongue and continued explaining. It seemed like CC was also trying to contain her laugh. I don't really know them that's why I named him "How-man" alright!

"We met 'How-man' when I posted my last Facebook post. At first I posted it on a whim, because the world is plunged to chaos, posting something in the internet bound to be lost is meaningless except if it's for sentimentality right? I just didn't expect that guy to be monitoring the whole internet."

I myself am quite stomped at how quickly "How-man" replied to my post that I considered the questions of "Was he a fan of mine?" or "Is this guy a lucky pervert?".

"So the perpetrator of the whole petrification event was this 'How-man'. But we still do not know whether he's an individual or they're a group."

Lelouch was deep in thought as he began to deeply think about the reasons as to why the perpetrator initiated the Petrification Event. Then he looked at me and asked.

"Before that, how did you even summon the two of us? As far as I know from what I gathered from the revived people in our empire, the world before the petrification didn't have the technology nor the abilities to summon people from other worlds. There's also little to no supernatural phenomena."

Now this is the most anticipated question. I felt Julienne's gaze boring through my back. Sorry. But I won't tell anyone about my secrets. Not yet.

"That huh? I. DO. NOT. KNOW."

"""Huh?!"""

Lelouch himself stood up in shock agitated while CC and Julienne frowned for different reasons.

"What do you mean you do not know?! You literally talked to us in spirit form earlier AND when you summoned us. How can you not know?"

"I. do. not. know."

I just turned my head to the side and avoided the question. Yes. If I can't properly explain why, then I won't tell them anything. I know I'd have to explain it anyway in the future but I do not want to explain it to them right now.

Looking at Nathalia, Julienne knows that she really doesn't plan to explain anything to them about this at all. So she just sighed and told both CC and Lelouch about it.

"Lelouch, CC, it's meaningless to ask her further if she doesn't want to tell us. She will not explain unless she wants to even if we force her. Drop it for now."

Lelouch just let out a dragged sigh while CC chuckled as if reminiscing.

"At least she's better than someone who's a liar."

Both Lelouch and Nathalia stiffened, unnoticed by the two.

'I haven't been called a liar since my last lifetime... which is apparently 3700 years ago now. Wild.'
