"Your majesty," Evans' voice cut through the little tension that was starting to grow between them, and Edith nearly let out a visible sigh of relief.
Turning, they both looked at waiting for his next set of words, which didn't take long.
"You have a guest, your Majesty," Evans said, and Davion frowned. Understanding the unspoken words of his master, Evans wasted no time and added, "Duke Lorret is here. I have tried sending him away, but he has proved to be quite stubborn and insistent on meeting you in person."
"Very well," he said with a nod and a tired sigh. "Let him know I will be there shortly," Evans bowed his head and left to dele8ver the message while Davion turned his attention back to Edith.
Edith swallowed her saliva, remembering what she had just said about just a moment ago.
"I didn't mean to offend you in any way, I swear…" she quickly said but was interrupted by him as if it didn't matter at all.
