"Have a good night, my queen," Lucas said after placing her gently on the bed and making sure that she was comfortable. He stood up straight, but his eyes never left her face.
With her eyes closed, she looked like what mortal envision of a goddess. Lucas chided himself, saying she looked the same even with her eyes wide open.
"Lucas," Celeste called, and she grabbed his hand. She slowly opened her and looked at him. "I am truly grateful to have you by my side. Thank you," she said. Lucas wanted to shake his head, but she smiled and closed her eyes again.
Understanding her gesture, he hummed and raised her hand to his lips. "Good night, Your Highness," he said before placing her hand by her side and turned to leave.
