The meeting moved on to the last item on the agenda and suddenly came to a halt. The main reason being that the Orcs were showing signs of unrest, and Hudson could not be spared.
Everyone knew it was just an excuse, but no one wanted to call it out. The Middle East Front could not be left without a person in charge; once Hudson took command of the troops heading south, he would have to relinquish his position as the Front-line Commander.
Compared to the position of Front-line Commander, helping the Black Forest Kingdom suppress the rebellion seemed rather low in prestige.
The most crucial issue, however, was military power!
As the supreme commander of the Near East front, Hudson wielded control over the Kingdom's elite border forces and commanded the private armies of the Near East Seven Provinces. During wartime, he could also regulate the private armies of the Twelve Provinces of the Northern Region.
