Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Sarcasm and Ridicule

This dog isn't any fancy breed; it was originally picked up by Isabelle Somerville and her on the road. Durrell Landon doesn't like such fragile creatures, so she couldn't bring it back, and Isabelle ended up keeping it.

Back then, it was all gray and dusty, but now it's completely transformed.

The dog was found in the wild, so they named it "Little Wild."

She poured some dog food for Little Wild, and the dog seemed quite happy to see her, eating heartily.

After playing with Little Wild for a while, she returned to the living room and glanced at Isabelle Somerville.

"Isabelle, was it your idea to have me collaborate on a single with your brother?"

Isabelle Somerville laughed a couple of times, "Quiana, you figured it out?"

Even though she would complain about her brother in her dreams, she still hoped Quiana could become her sister-in-law.

Unfortunately, Quiana wasn't very enthusiastic. She thought if the two had some CP fans, maybe Quiana would change her mind.

She pulled Quiana Sutton over, pushed her onto the sofa, and stuffed a game controller into her hand.

"Quiana, I just got badly beaten by my brother; you need to help me get back at him."

Axius Somerville was a bit displeased, "Sister, how can you bring in an outsider?"

Isabelle shot him a glare; Axius immediately behaved.

Sorrowfully and reluctantly, he said, "Alright, let's play."

Quiana Sutton absentmindedly played the game with Axius Somerville, and after his 108th defeat, she finally ran out of patience.

"You're really terrible at this."

Axius Somerville felt like he had a mouthful of blood stuck in his throat. Every time he played a game with Quiana, she would completely crush him, leaving him with a looming psychological shadow.

"I'm done; I want to go rest."

He lived downstairs from Isabelle Somerville; he once considered connecting the two floors, but Isabelle refused, saying she needed her own space and didn't want to live with her brother. Always doting on his sister, he eventually went along with her decision.

As he left, he saw Isabelle wrapping herself around Quiana's arm, looking very intimate. He really didn't understand who was actually related.

That mouthful of blood stuck in his throat felt like it was about to gush out.

He quickly left Isabelle Somerville's place, afraid he might just lose it and give Quiana a thrashing.

Suddenly, he wondered if he could actually take Quiana on.

The next day.

Early in the morning, Quiana Sutton received a message from Grace Sutton.

[The other party's production team agreed. Prepare yourself well.]

Quiana Sutton replied: [Got it, thanks.]

Right now, she wanted more than anything to shed her crybaby image.

Durrell Landon liked gentle, serene girls as calm as water, and Evelyn Windsor was precisely that type. So since she was a stand-in, she naturally had to play this role well.

Now that she no longer needed to disguise, of course, the first layer to tear off was this persona.

She wasn't some weak, fragile white lotus; she was like a poppy growing on a cliff under the moonlight: dangerous and deadly.

Grace Sutton put down her phone and pinched her brow in frustration. She knew the other party's production team just wanted Quiana's traffic to boost their variety show.

She comforted herself, knowing that even haters are still fans.

Sometimes, she quite admired Quiana's stormy and dramatic nature.

Isabelle Somerville came out of her room and saw Quiana sitting on the sofa, her straight, long legs casually draped over the coffee table.

Rebellious, yet exuding a powerful aura.

She cautiously swallowed.

Quiana, noticing Isabelle approaching, slipped her phone back into her pocket.

Casually, she asked, "Want to go out and play? I can accompany you today."

Isabelle regretfully shook her head, "I would love to, but I have an appointment with a doctor today; I need to go to Xiangbei Hospital."

Quiana scanned Isabelle up and down, "Are you feeling unwell?"

Isabelle looked a bit embarrassed, "Every time I get my period, the pain is unbearable; this time, I even need painkillers. I want to live a few more years, so I've decided to see a doctor."

"I'll go with you."

Isabelle was a bit worried, "What if someone recognizes you?"

She didn't seem to mind, "I'll wear a mask and hat."

Xiangbei Hospital.

Gynecology is on the seventh floor.

VIP wards are on the eighth floor.

While accompanying Isabelle Somerville in the waiting area, a particular figure unexpectedly flashed through Quiana's mind.

She seemed to care more than she imagined.

After a while, she still couldn't go against her own will. She stood up and said to Isabelle Somerville beside her:

"Isabelle, wait for me here for a moment; I'll be right back."

Just as Isabelle was about to speak, Quiana disappeared around the corner.

Isabelle blinked, feeling like Quiana seemed quite familiar with hospitals.

Quiana stood at the entrance of the ward and unexpectedly found it empty inside.

She didn't see Durrell Landon but saw Julian Haworth approaching.

At first, Julian thought this woman wearing a mask and hat was a criminal, but he didn't expect it to be Quiana.

Narrowing his long eyes, he looked her up and down and said mockingly:

"Didn't expect you to be so concerned about Durrell? Visiting even after being kicked out?"

She gave Julian a cool glance, her tone cold, "None of your business."

From the first time he met this woman, Julian felt he never got any advantage and most of the time ended up nearly bursting with anger.

Still unwilling to give up, he taunted:

"Durrell went back to Imperial View Manor. You probably won't see him again."

"Imperial View Manor?" Quiana looked puzzled.

Seeing Quiana's confusion, Julian's mocking gaze deepened:

"Imperial View Manor is Durrell's real home. After three years of marriage, you probably haven't been there, right?"

At that moment, Quiana suddenly realized she actually knew nothing about Durrell Landon.

She didn't even know where his real home was.

But it didn't matter anymore.

The most important thing now was the divorce.

As long as Durrell signed the divorce agreement, everything else could be discussed.

The transition from surprise to calmness took only a moment, and Julian suddenly found this woman before him quite impressive.

If he had provoked anyone else like this, they'd be furious by now, yet she remained as steady as a mountain.

He didn't know whether it was her pitch-black, silent eyes or her cold, delicate skin, but from the first moment, people felt she was devoid of warmth.

Now, she seemed even more heartless.

"I'm really curious, why did you marry Durrell in the first place?"

Quiana glanced at him sideways, "Is it so wrong that I liked him?"

"Liar!"

If she truly liked him, when Durrell was injured and lying in the hospital, would her face have no trace of panic? If she really liked him, would she tolerate another woman in his heart?

"At most, you liked Durrell's money the most..."

He always believed that. Initially, Quiana was just a small-time actress who married Durrell Landon for money and resources.

Julian's imagination was quite rich, and Quiana's lips curved slightly, smiling mysteriously as she said, "In your eyes, is Durrell so lacking that all I've got to gain is money and resources? How do you know it wasn't for his looks? At least that face is unrivaled, right?"

Julian: "???"

Thinking of Durrell's astonishingly handsome face, he found himself momentarily speechless.

Successfully leaving Julian speechless, Quiana happily turned to leave. As she turned the corner, her steps faltered slightly when she saw Knight Tamworth standing by the small elevator, which was slowly opening at that secluded corner.

This time, his gaze quietly settled on Quiana, eyes still deep, yet he carried himself like a harmless nobleman, every movement exuding grace and precision.
