"What rift?" Jan asked, voicing what everyone else had been thinking. Tension crackled in the air. All eyes turned to Eccar, who stood at the front, unwavering, ready for whatever emerged.
"It looks like a rift opened from another world… or some unknown dimension," Eccar said casually, as if he were commenting on the weather. But for the adventurers behind him — all of them human — this was far from ordinary. Something like this was the kind of catastrophe usually reserved for Archmages and royal soldiers. Dimensional rifts weren't supposed to be their problem.
"Don't worry," Eccar continued with a shrug. "We just have to fight like always."
Then he glanced back, finally noticing their pale faces and stiffened bodies. Fear gripped them. He sighed, then smiled, his voice softening. "It's not as bad as you think. I know you all can do it."
His words, calm and steady as always, worked like a balm. Jan straightened, eyes flicking to his allies. He gave a firm nod.
