They heard the commotion not far off — crashing trees, the ground trembling, the air sharp with the hiss of wind blades.
The adventurers in the escort party exchanged grim looks, eyes wide. This wasn't some ordinary fighting.
Trees were falling — not one or two, but whole swaths crashing down at once. The battle raging out there was massive. And even though they knew Eccar was strong… was he strong enough to handle whatever force had just appeared?
None of them truly knew. To them, Eccar was just a powerful warrior from the Elven Kingdom — not a Dragonborn. They had no clear sense of his limits. And now, the same fear gnawed at each of them, what if they'd overestimated his strength? What if they'd let him go alone… only to find his broken corpse later?
"We have to help him!" Selene, the witch, said sharply, her face pale and drawn as though she could already see that grim outcome.
