Maria woke up early in the morning to the beeping of her phone, she looked at the wall clock right in front of her, and she wondered who would have had the audacity to call by this time of the day, it was still six-thirty in the morning.
She looked at the caller ID and it was Jonas, why in the world would he be calling her, she checked by her side and Williams was nowhere to be found, today was one of those days that she was happy that he left early in the morning for his study.
She quickly made her way to the bathroom locked the door and quickly picked up the call
"what do you want?" she questioned him immediately after she picked up the call.
"What nonsense was your son spitting out at dinner yesterday, that he's going to marry his maid as soon as he wakes up?" he asked her and she rolled her eyes, Angel must have told him.
"Exactly what she told you, I don't have total control over my children, they are adults for God's sake," she said
"well I don't care whether they are adults or children, but if you don't do as I say you won't even have them to call your children anymore," he said and Maria almost felt like screaming, there's nothing she hated more in this world than being threatened or being treated as a pun, that's why she made sure that she made to this position that she is today so she can be the boss, now this idiot is talking to her like she's his tool or something, she's so going to kill him.
"Maria are you still there?" he asked
"yes I'm still here, I'm trying my best here so please don't pressure me and just give me time to think about the whole thing" she said and hung up, she didn't want to continue hearing his nonsense anymore.
She quickly made her back to bed and tried to get some sleep but it was of no use, the idiot already woke her up, she sat up thinking about what she could do about this situation, she couldn't allow that man to continue to threaten her and he does sound desperate and he's going to expose her if she doesn't do his bidding, and the worst thing is that she doesn't have anything on him, she can't threaten him with anything.
How in the world did he even find her out she kept thinking about it what she could do then suddenly she thought about something, everyone would be so mad at her for this but she didn't have any option at all, she needed to do it, she has to.
Later in the morning, before breakfast is been served, Maria goes to look for Angel in her room, she really cannot believe that she's doing this, but what choice does she have?
She didn't bother to even knock on the door, this was her house anyway, when she entered her room she met her getting dressed, she's getting ready for breakfast, that was the only thing that she had been doing ever since she came into this house, she just sleeps and eat, she cannot begin to imagine what will happen if she gets married to her son.
"Mother" Angel said but she quickly shut up, Maria's looks could kill, she had forgotten that she didn't want her to call her mother, but then she was only trying to get into character.
"I have something that I need you to do and you must carry it out well," she said to her.
"Okay I'm all ears" she said excitedly
"Once we are at breakfast find a good reason to get close to Chris and give a very provocating position, I will be taking pictures, give the impression that you are kissing each other or something like that and you and I will be having time out this afternoon so get ready.
"and one more thing, put this ring on, it's to create the impression that you are engaged to Chris" she added before she left the room.
Angel was almost screaming her lungs out of happiness, she couldn't believe that this was actually happening, her dad was really a genius for pulling this crazy stunt, now they had Maria under their control and she would do just about anything for them, she can't wait for those pictures to hit the media, she will make those that have hated her in the past eat their words.
Chris woke quite late today, it's been a while since he had such a good night's sleep, and he can't just stop yawning from so much tiredness.
The first thing he did when he woke was to call Mrs Whitney and ask how Jane was doing and she said she was doing fine, she had still not made any other reaction since she moved her fingers but they were really hopeful that something would happen soon.
He also called Mike to ask for reports and Mike gave him a really good report, he said her organs are starting to respond, and he said she should wake up anytime soon.
This has put him in a happy mood ever since he took his bath and now he's heading down for breakfast, he got there and his mom was nowhere to be found, which is quite strange, she's always here before anybody most of the time, probably she overslept or something.
As he stepped forward to get to his seat, the next person he saw was Angel, she quickly wrapped her left arm around him and he could not even react in time because he was shocked.
