Chapter 216 - Luffy's Decision

"Then, are we just going to let Liam disappear? Are you guys seriously suggesting that?" Nami's emotions were out of control as she roared towards Zoro and Sanji.

"Nami-chan, it's not what we think. It's what Liam wants. Truthfully, I believe we could've avoided all of this using Kuma's power. Think about it."

Sanji explained.

Hearing that, Law's eyebrows rose as he said.

"Now that you mention it, he did say something about Kuma. If he hadn't trained you guys, you would've been sent away by Kuma."

"Since he is mixed with a Revolutionary, he won't attack you. But he will definitely deal with you."

Hearing that, Vivi heavily sighed and said.

"I am not sure if I should say this here, but Robin mentioned something about the crew. We will face an Admiral in Sabody. On that day, the Straw Hat Pirates, led by Monkey D Luffy, will be destroyed."

"I didn't know why we would be targeted by an Admiral, but then I realized the situation of this island. According to Robin, there are many Celestial Dragons who appear on this island."

"And based on his emotions, Luffy would conflict with the Celestial Dragon. That conflict would mean the arrival of an Admiral. But Kuma would save us by sending us to different places for training."

Hearing that, Nami covered her mouth in shock. Despite being his girlfriend, she knew almost nothing about these things.

Hearing that, Sanji sighed.

"Nami-chan, none of us wants Liam to disappear. Not even Luffy. But if Liam is the one who wants to save Ace. If he wanted, he could've used Kuma's powers and training montage to send us away."

"Even if Luffy gets the news later, he would rush to save Ace alone. Liam would follow him, but if he didn't want to disappear, they wouldn't be able to save Ace."

"But he did none of that. Liam is sure to save Ace otherwise, he wouldn't have gone so far to use those tactics to lure Law and Kuma into our crew."

"He knows what he is doing. Now, we can only wait for the Captain's order."

Saying that, Sanji heavily sighed.

He knew Luffy would be in a deep situation right now. Because it wouldn't be easy to choose between two people who were extremely close to him.

More importantly, if he chose Ace, then others might not accept his decision and leave the crew.

While he believed none of them would do such a thing, it was possible, especially for Nami, who was in love with Liam.

She would never accept this kind of decision.

Inside Captain's Room;

"Robin, what exactly is happening right now?"

Although Luffy already had some guesses, he still asked. It wasn't hard to figure out the situation when you could feel others' emotions.

Luffy knew something was wrong with Liam before their battle in Enies Lobby, but since Liam didn't say anything, he didn't ask.

It's not that he didn't care about Liam.

He wouldn't try to be nosy until it concerned the safety of his crew.

So, he never asked Liam about his situation, nor did he try to understand it. He just thought Liam would one day ask for help.

He didn't know much, but he knew how to punch.

He believed there was no problem that he couldn't solve with a punch. If there was, then just throw that problem to his crew.

So, he was very nervous right now. Because his crew's reaction meant that only he had the power to solve the problem.

But he couldn't just ignore his only brother.

He knew Sabo wouldn't ignore Ace. So, how could he?

"It's a long story. I am not sure I can help you understand Liam's problem, but I can make it simpler."

Robin sighed heavily and started explaining the situation.

She didn't go deeper into Liam's idea of saving Ace at the cost of his life. Rather, she just explained to him how he would disappear if they saved Ace.

She didn't say saving Ace was impossible. She just said that if they saved Ace, someone would take Liam away from this world.

It was a simple thing to understand, which Luffy did.

But just as Sanji predicted, he was in a dilemma right now. The fact that Liam would disappear meant Ace was going to die.

Otherwise, his crew wouldn't be in such trouble.

He also understood why he felt a strange presence from Liam from time to time. He didn't think about it before, but now, he understood that Liam was disappearing.

Luffy's expression had darkened.

This was the first time Robin had seen such an emotion in Luffy's face. Because they had been together for over a week, Luffy had spent most of his time with Robin.

Even more than the time he spent with Chopper and Usopp.

After all, he couldn't spend time with them while training, as they had a different kind of training.

But with Robin, their training was similar.

Both were trying to improve their Haki, so they spent most of their time in this room.

Another reason was that Robin was trying to teach Luffy things that a girlfriend and boyfriend do.

Although Liam could help him with theories, he couldn't practice with Luffy.

So, Robin was not only being a considerate girlfriend by teaching how to make a girl happy, but also trained with him.

It was this action that made others realize that Robin was serious about Luffy. It might have started as a fear of losing the importance in the crew but now, she was becoming more and more like his girlfriend.

To the point that she started to use her reading time to help Luffy with his training.

And whenever they were not training, she would use that time to explore the lovely bond between them.

Despite knowing this, she couldn't do anything to help him.

It's not that she didn't want. She very much wanted to help him, but this was a decision that Luffy had to make on his own.

She didn't know how much time had passed. But after a while, Luffy finally raised his head as his expression turned to normal.

He didn't smile, but Robin knew he had figured out something.

"Let's go, Robin! I have made a decision."

Luffy said while touching his hat.

Robin smiled and followed him out. Whenever they reached out, everyone's attention immediately fell on him.

Luffy knew everyone was waiting for his decision. It was probably the most important decision he had made.

That's why he was a bit nervous, which was unusual for him.

"Guys, I have decided. I want to save Ace."

When he said that, the deck became silent. It was a hard pill to swallow, but everyone had no choice.

They knew the bond between Ace and Luffy. They didn't feel disappointed.

Nobody could feel good after making this kind of decision, especially someone like Luffy.

At this moment, the most disappointed one was none other than Nami.

If this were about Merry and if that person were Usopp, there would've been a deep conflict between the two.

But Nami, despite all of her emotions, didn't raise a question.

Luffy saw her look and clenched his fist. He was angry at himself for making his crew sad. He was so damn angry that he wanted to fight someone.

But this was a decision he made.

"But I have not become King of the Pirates. We have not found One Piece. So until that day, Liam will be the Vice Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates."

"So, we are going to find him and bring him back."

When he said that, everyone's eyes widened. Especially Sanji, who realized what kind of decision Luffy had made.

"Luffy, we don't even know what we are dealing with. It's not the same as punching someone in the face."

"Sanji, you are a cook."

Luffy shouted, interrupting him.

Sanji raised a question mark on his forehead as he looked at Luffy.

Luffy smiled. This was his first smile he made after learning about Ace and Liam's condition.

"Liam is not going to die. He is just going to disappear. So, let's find him. We have the best Navigator here."

"There is no sea or a place we can't find. I don't know how to cook, how to sail, or cure someone."

"I only know one thing. It is to punch someone. So, I will punch that thing or a person who took Liam away from us."

Luffy jumped from the first floor to the deck and walked in front of Nami. He held his Straw Hat and put it on Nami.

"I made a promise with Shanks. Until I become a Pirate King, I won't return this hat to him."

"Without Liam, I can't become the Pirate King. So, until we find him and bring him back, keep this hat safe, will you?"

Hearing that, Nami had a tearful face as she nodded.

"Umm!"
