"Rick, hey, come here. You need to find me a way to remind him who is boss. You have to help."I say pointing at Charity's direction. Rick simply looks back to figure him out and Blake has an empty expression on his face.
"Why are you so interested in bullying the poor guy. You the one that forbid us from bullying. I mean that's why I adopted a girl stare look." Blake snots and moved on to narrow his eyes to a hald lidded smoulder a stupid head raise, and his teeth catching his lower lip more time than is needed.
"What, nothing. I'm not bullying him. I mean he's out to destroy me." I reply totallily ignoring his stupid look. Sometimes I really want to tell him that it's stupid and the only reason girls don't like him. He has the looks, his eyes are green, he has the killer smile but that face-
"You don't even know him. Why would he want to destroy you?" Rick questions, his yes still on Charity.
"I just know okay? I don't know the guy and I don't care. Will you help me or not?" I snap and wait up for that answer. Just as I turn to look back to my path, I spot charity talking to that pony girl and I stop in my tracks. So do Blake and Rick.
"What." Rick asks confused.
"Who's that pony girl?" I ask.
"Never seen her." Blake replies with a shrug and tries to move ahead of me to embarrass himself with that charm he thinks he has but I pull him back.
"I don't know. You have never asked about a girl. Is it because the new boy is flirting with her?" Rick later responds and let's out a silent laugh.
"Shut up and turn around." I say turning before they do and starting to walk away.
"Dude!" Calls Rick.
"Buddy." Calls Blake.
I don't stop at my tracks until I'm out of Pokeme high and I breathe.
"What is going ooon?" Rick grips my shoulder.
What was I mad about though? Why is this guy getting to me so easy? It should be him reacting this way not me. That small talk in my head got me to get up and walk right to them.
"Cute couple." I say without thinking.
Cute couple? Really? My head kept taunting me. I played with it anyway. Im not sure if it's Pony or Charity getting me to do this.
"Uuh? We're-" Charity begins to say before Pony interrupts him mid sentence.
"Thankful. Thank you! My boyfriend and I moved to the school quite recently." She says without hesitation.
"Yeeaa, yes we did- Me and- Babe- Here, we- We are-" He keeps swallowing, words geting stuck in his throat.
I knew I intimidated him. Look at his face before pony cut's him off. It's almost as if he can't form words.
"Leaving! We are leaving. Right... BABE?" She insisted on that last word. It's like she was making a point clear.
Maybe it's about yesterday. Maybe she thought I'd tell him about it.
She looks like she has no idea we were hosting charity.
Perfect idea!
I'm stealing her from right under him.
"What?" I hear two voices say in unison and turn to them.
I might have said that out loud. Not too loud but loud enough for Blake and Rick to hear.
"Dude I cannot tell why you so obsessed with this guy." Rick says as he shakes his head in disapproval.
"And I was gonna charm her." Blake says disappointed and we both stare at him blankly. "Whaat... She's hot." He adds, lengthening the last word and smiles to himself.
I take one glance at charity only to see them raising hands. Any sane person would tell they were having an argument.
"Day one to stealing Mason's girlfriend." Blake announces taking out a small black board with stands on it and the words 'Day one to stealing Mason's girlfriend' scribbled in white chalk. How does he even carry that around?
"Dude.... No..." I warn. This is silly. I was not going to act some lame ass investigative movie with them.
"No? Not cool?" He says taking turns to look at both Rick and I then to his innovation.
"Mhmmh." Rick tells me before I could load an insult.
"Charity. I prefer Charity. And dude, I'm just teaching him a very valid lesson to stay in his place." I smile ridiculously then look back at Blake. "The perfect plan." I add.
The living room is full of comforters. What gets mom so obsessed with comforters is still a mystery I am yet to uncover. The couches are white as snow with tiny black diamond under. The tiles are well places to form a lily or rose in every four tiles pattern. The television is mounted on a locomotive stand that dad prefers for the tutorials on easier methods to clean his shoes which mom keeps refusing to do. -They are all a fiasco but the old man keeps trying. I admire his commitment- The ceiling is fitted with a golden glass chandelier. -I keep stressing in doubt that one day it might crash on my head- The sides are filled with translucent materials that allow sunlight and glow in the night. They are round shaped, arranged in a straight line with similar distance from each other. There is a small fountain close to the staircase that mom insisted should be placed there to represent nature since she didn't love indoor flowers. She keeps saying that they drain the oxygen we should take in during the night. It also is a replica of the huge one that rests in the front yard. The door to the outside is a fair distance on the left of the staircase and is painted white.
Charity is smiling at his phone, standing behind the couch and leaning on it's rest.
"I see you got over your little fight." I say walking past him to pick my laptop that lay charging close to the television.
"Stalker much?" He smirks and walks away.
It's evident he doesn't want to discuss the subject. It's getting him uncomfortable.
"You haven't told pony you staying with us. Why?" I pry but he gives me a confused expression.
"Who is pony?" He asks only to receive a blank expression. "Oh." He says in realization. "I'm not- You mind your business." He changes his statement mid sentence.
"Not all smiley and douchey now are we?" My attempt to mock his mood fails, or works, I'm not sure what it meant to walk away without a word.
"Dude, to get her to fall for you, you at least need to approach her and get to know her name. I don't think she'll appreciate you calling her by her hairstyle." I remember Rick saying that and he was right.
I haven't approached her yet and it has been a week already. Except for the pony part. Girls love to be noticed. Even the smallest features or the change in their usual shade of lipstick. They also love pet names. I have learnt so much from Larry. He never misses a shot. The approaching her bit was still underway. At one moment I was walking in the hallway and when I heard her talk and laugh with some other girls, I hid in the boys changing room. I can't tell why I'm finding it hard. Every scenario I have played in my head ends worse every time even when I try to convince myself.
"I got this." I can't believe I'm talking myself into this. She is stsnding by her locker arranging whatever it is that girls usually take time arranging.
"So, Charity uuh." That was more of a statement than a question.
She is startled and one of her books drops open. It's full of pictures of her and charity. Some have some other kids. Teenagers and even smaller kids. My jaws stiffen for a while before I get myself together. She picks it up.quick and digs into my eyes.
"Excuse me?" She states with obvious confusion in her tonation. I don't move my eyes and it makes hers wander to her locker.
Her eyes send a shiver up my spine and until she looks away I cannot get to take mine off her.
"Mason." I struggle to say his name.
"Be done with the small talk and get to the point. I don't like to be followed around." She slams her locker and her gaze tears into my eyes, almost as if she could see my soul.
"Sassy. I like it." I walk away before she gets a chance to see straight through me.
