The short mystery of the Goos was solved rather quickly, as Pyuku analyzed living specimens and even tried to communicate with them, finding out they were too different to be called Slimes, and were indeed beings born in this world and not created by the Gods. They were simply convergently evolved monsters that resembled slimes, but whose appearances were still more hideous.
Slimes were often small, not bigger than a meter of height, they were round and cute, their tenacles were more like small fingerless arms that looked adorable, and they didn't have creepy floating eyes around their bodies, or a core either, they were simply much more compressed and refined in appearance.
Meanwhile, Goos looked like messes, they couldn't quite stay in any shape and were always moving while splattering everywhere. they had a floating core inside of them, a monster core made out of crystalized mana which is the same as most monsters.
