Chapter 415 - Living Puppet II

Seven Sins System Chapter 415. Living Puppet II

The puppet nodded and took an empty seat near my desk. His hands reached for several stacks of documents, and he began working on them with a mechanical precision.

Ivy watched him for a moment before turning to me with a curious expression. "When will he break?"

"He's a Kraken. His lifespan is almost the same as a vampire's, so it will be a very long time," I replied, my lips curling into a sadistic smirk. "And as for the body… the puppet, as long as we can fix it, it won't break, right?"

She nodded slowly. "But what if others discover that he is a mortal trapped in a puppet's body?"

With a deliberate motion, I reached into a drawer and pulled out a pair of handcuffs. I placed them around the puppet's wrists. The cold metal clicked shut.

"There," I said, leaning back with a satisfied grin. "Just tell them it's because they smelled the handcuffs. It comes from the mortal realm and has residual Mana from there." My tone was relaxed.

Ivy watched me. "So, these handcuffs will mask his mortal origins?" she asked, wanting to be sure.

"Exactly," I replied. "It's a simple but effective cover. Anyone who questions it will just assume it's a side effect of the handcuffs. No one will suspect a thing."

Ivy's jaw dropped at my lame made-up excuse.

"Tell me you are kidding," she said in an incredulous tone.

"No. I'm serious," I replied. "Oh, and feel free to make him do your work too." I kept my voice serious.

I wasn't concerned about what would happen if people found out what that puppet really was—or if they decided to torture him. Honestly, I hoped they would. His pain was the whole point. Sure, he was technically mine now, but I had zero interest in shielding him or making things easier. I wanted him to suffer. Every bit of agony he felt was well-deserved for what he did.

"He stole my identity," I said with a shrug, flicking my hand like I was brushing off some dust. "So yeah—go ahead, torture him. I'm not in the mood to be nice."

Ivy blinked a few times. She glanced back at the puppet, who was diligently working through the stacks of documents with disturbing efficiency.

His hands moved mechanically, sorting and organizing, all while his faceless head remained eerily still.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "I mean if others find out…"

I cut her off with a dismissive wave. "I don't care. Let them find out. Let them do whatever they want to him. The more he suffers, the better. He deserves every bit of pain coming his way." My eyes glinted with sadistic satisfaction.

Ivy took a deep breath, her shoulders relaxing as she finally gave in.

"Okay," she said, her tone a mix of resignation and understanding.

Then... A small smile appeared on her face, her eyes flicking up to meet mine with a flirtatious glint.

With a sway in her step, she approached me, her demeanor turning spoiled and playful.

"Since this is already over, can we—" she began, her voice sultry.

Before she could finish, I interrupted her.

"I have to go now, Ivy. The case isn't finished yet, but I've found a new hope. Just wish me luck."

I knew what she wanted, and truth be told, I wanted it too. But the information swirling in my head about the cult and their machinations needed my immediate attention.

They were using the lord of sin to carry out their plans, and that was a direct threat to us. I needed to settle this as soon as possible.

I could see Ivy's disappointment, but duty called, and I couldn't afford to ignore it.

Puriel was waiting, and who knew what clues she might uncover in that room? I couldn't risk her keeping secrets from me.

With a heavy heart, I leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to Ivy's lips. Then, without another word, I teleported and turned towards the portal.

Emerging on the other side, back in the mortal realm, I straightened my shoulders and squared my jaw. "I'm back," I announced proudly.

Puriel's glare could've melted steel as she shot daggers at me with her eyes.

I rolled my eyes in response.

"Lower your voice," she snapped.

I couldn't help but cringe a little at her complaint.

"They're passed out. They won't hear me," I shot back, striding over to one of the beds and flopping down on the edge with all the nonchalance I could muster.

But before I could even get comfortable, Puriel was on me again.

"And close your eyes! They're naked. Don't you have any shame?" she hissed.
