As zamas left sandy house, she worries about his injuries. hope he is ok. she thought to herself as she turn the corner. He look happy sure but there was a deep sadness and frustration in him that she sensed. Maybe it was because he is bored doing nothing. She knew that if it was herself in his place, she would go crazy. Opening her door, she heard a small mew near her feet.
"hi papia. did you miss me?" she coo as her cat jump into her arms. He rub his head against her face as she cuddles him. he then growl softly as if he smell something nasty on her. She let him go as he jump down and walk away. hmm that was weird she thought as she went to her room. Sitting at her desk, she was thinking on sandy's weird expressions as they was playing the games. As he teased her, there was something weird there. she feels like he changed somehow.
There was something darker in his expressions. She chuckles to herself as she dismisses it. Now she thinking like those kids who used to bully him. Hearing her name, she goes to the kitchen. "yes mom?" Her mother turn around and smiled. "was wondering on any news about sandy. I assume you went to see him today. Did you tell him I hope his leg gets better?" "but of course. I told him that everyone was worried about him and hope that he gets better. also I gave him that book. he loves it. going to be doing my daily walk. It is still light out." She wave as she head out the door with her coat and backpack.
She walk outside, thrusting her face up to catch the sunlight on her face. Perfect time of the summer day. not too hot and just cooling down as the sun start to set. She begin walking towards her favorite trail in the nearby forest. At this time, there was less people and she was able to enjoy the sounds of nature. She begin to get a bit nervous as the sun sets but seeing the full moon rise was amazing at her secret spot. Ducking under branches, she sigh in relief as she finally made it. It was a beautiful meadow that was still hot due to the sunlight. Oh how she loves this place.
It was an accident that she found it in the first place. Since it was at the bottom of a short hill, she trip and roll down it, scaring away a few bunnies that was munching on the grass. She even showed sandy, after getting lost twice, sandy made markers so she can always find it.
Sitting on a small stump, she closed her eyes and enjoy the warmth. She fell into a light sleep, and knew she was dreaming when she saw sandy with her. he grin at her, his hazel brown eyes staring deeply into hers. She blush a bit as she felt like his eyes was staring into her very being. She reach up and ran her fingers through his curly short sandy brown hair. Why couldn't she be this brave when she was awake? Sandy closed his eyes due to her touch, letting out a soft sigh. She woke up once sandy started growling like a dog. What the hell? she thought as she look around warily.
That when she noticed that night had fallen. Quickly getting up, she walk towards the path when the growling got louder. Stopping she look to a nearby bush on her left and saw yellow eyes blinking back. she started to step back as a large black wolf walk towards her, snarling all the while. She noticed that the wolf had a single white paw and fur sticking up on it head. But mostly she noticed it's fangs. She continue backing away when it lowers it body, looking like it was ready to pounce. She let out a short scream, closed her eyes and froze when it finally jump.
Hearing a loud growl, something furry shove her aside and took her place. Falling into a bush, she look and saw two wolves instead of one. The black one bite the one that saved her on it side. She saw that it look huge compared to the other one and had a mohawk. It let out a loud pained whine as it try to turn and bite back. She slowly back away as they fought. She turn around and begin to crawl away, hoping that they don't noticed. She winced as she heard a loud whine followed by a thud. She felt teeth on her right leg and scream as her flesh tear. Looking back, she aim her other foot and start kicking the black wolf in the face. The wolf snarl as it let her leg go to snap at her other foot.
Moving quickly she got up, start to hop away. Looking back she saw the wolf was about to attack when the other wolf bit his tail and drag him away from her. She was surprise at the emotion coming out of the mohawk wolf eyes. Shaking her head, she continue up and was finally on the path heading out of the forest.
Breathing heavily, she saw two hikers walking towards her. "Hey! Over here!" she called out. The hikers rush forward and look around. "tim! get the med kit. She is bleeding badly. Sit down so we can bandage it til you get to the hospital." She sat down slowly as the two hikers begin to work on her bite mark. Wincing as they finish up, she look behind her and realize that there was no more wolf sounds. " Hmm, you guys didn't hear the sounds of wolves did you?" She asked as the two hikers stood up. They look at each other before shaking their heads. They help her to the road and waited with her til the ambulance came. Waving goodbye to the friendly hikers, she relax as the paramedics look at her leg.
She look at her leg and nearly scream at the bite marks and flesh tears in her leg. She black out as they raced to the hospital.
"so how is she looking Dr. Steve?" "Very good. it looked way worse than it was. blood will do that to the mind. Healing is coming along nicely. why don't you rest? I can look after all since she's my only patient." She heard a crisp, soft voice and a shrill female voice talking near her bed. Opening her eyes slowly, she saw the back of a blonde hair woman walking out the door. Blinking slowly so her eyes get adjusted to the room lights, she look at her leg and saw the top of a silver hair head. raising her eyebrows in confusion, she heard sniffing noises and just watch as he sniff along her leg wounds. "your leg is fine. it is healing nicely." She jump a bit as she heard his voice. He stood up and she finally saw his face. he had silver hair cut short with green eyes. he look young and old at the same time. or maybe it was cuz of his silver hair.
"Going to wrap this and then you can go home." he gave a sad smile as he started the process. Zamas grin as he put a cast on her leg. "oh you going to be loopy due to the pain meds. Just sleep it off." She nodded as he walk to the door. "good luck." he said as her mom entered with tears on her face. "Thank you so much doctor." He nodded as he left.
She look at her mom and grin. "a wolf protect me. Got bit by black wolf. Huge fight. tired now. goodnight." Her mom grab a chair and sat with her throughout the night. She had a weird dream about the wolf who saved her. He seem like she knows him but that was just crazy thoughts. so she shrug it off as being on pain meds. Hope sandy visits soon.
