My meeting with Yami left me with more questions than answers. It confused the hell out of me and now I ask myself, "Is this war really happening or is it just small battles between some creators?"
The only way to get an answer is to ask someone who knows the circumstances. I think Keith wouldn't answer me honestly. Maybe he doesn't know much either.
For now, I head back home. I return to Amaryllis and I got surrounded.
"So, how was the chat?" (Fay)
"You ask as if you exactly know that I wasn't fighting to my death. I could have been fighting for my life if you know!"
"We are connected to you, you already know. Aftet you became a creator, our connection only got stronger. We clearly know that you just had a leisurely chat with Yami." (Aura)
I guess I don't need to explain it to them anymore.
"Keith wants to see you. He said that you will have many questions as soon as you return." (Fay)
I knew it. Keith probably had an idea that Yami wouldn't attack me. So he boldly sent me to face him. Now I am confused.
I go to Keith with Fay and Aura. He is sitting on his bed as if he was waiting for me.
"How was your talk with Yami?" (Keith)
"Confusing. What is this war about? What does Azathoth want to do?"
The leader of this group of radical creators is just stringing them along on his own agenda. That's considering he only has one agenda.
"For that, you need a bit of history lesson. Let's start with me. I am one of the youngest creators so my history is pretty simple.
I am Keith Harding, a normal human. I was born into a wealthy family but they abandoned me because I was not the child they were hoping. That doesn't matter. I became a creator after my failed suicide attempts." (Keith)
He basically skipped his human life and went straight to his creator origin. I am listening attentively. I see that Aura and Fay are seriously listening as well.
"I was not a genius and I am still not a genius. What happened to me back then is a mystery on its own! I chose to die in a much grander way. So I built a teleportation device.
Why? I d not have the answer to that. It just felt right. I was young and somehow pretty lucky. The device was done in a few months and I was ready to die.
Yet I did not. I exchanged places with my doppelgänger in a different universe of my multiverse. I was a resident of Seina's system. After many failed attempts, the side effects began to show.
Teleportation is like sending your biological and astral data through a high speed quantum network to superimpose you to another place. My device was flawed. I kept losing my physical data and after many attempts, my physical body became too unstable to exist in the system." (Keith)
His story is absurd. He made a device that teleporta him with just quantum superposition. That's kinda nuts. My teleportation spell is a much simpler version. Maybe the mechanics are the same but I am providing it with enough energy.
"That's how I decided to travel throughout the system and that strengthened my astral body. I am not a creator who became one with power. I happened to be lucky.
After I became an official creator, I paid a visit to Constant. There I learned more about Constant and how the current situation came to be." (Keith)
"So, you paid a visit to the most dangerous of creators soon after joining the group?" (Fay)
"I didn't think he was dangerous. When I went to visit him, he was already settled down. Harry and his group spared no effort to fix Constant. He welcomed me heartily and even offered me a construct. Getting a construct as a new creator is huge since we don't have any experience in making one.
And he introduced me to his wives. There I saw her for the first time. It blew my mind. A being, so beautiful and majestic that I became speechless. I was young." (Keith)
"Is this the person Azathoth is after?"
I ask the question since Aura and Fay are discussing something discreetly.
"Yes. She is someone who has existed since long before. She is the reason why Azathoth is waging this war. Azathoth wants answers. Erudition is always searching for knowledge. His thirst for knowledge is unbound. However, Azathoth is tenacious.
Once he decides something, he will see to it. Azathoth wants to know how everything began. What existed before Constant and how did Constant actually overthrow the entire system as a normal human?" (Keith)
I think the question remains. Azathoth is trying to find out if even creators are the result of someone's creation? Are we the pinnacle or there exists an even higher plane?
"Azathoth sound like quite ambitious."
"He is. But he is called the sleeping blind fool by Constant. Maybe Azathoth will succeed and find the answer to be lackluster. Maybe he will not succeed at all. Most of us had no problems with his pursuit. Until he dragged everyone into his own mess." (Keith)
It just proves, creations imitate the creators. Humans are exactly like the creators or is it vice versa? I don't know.
For now, I will brace for impact as someone less understanding may pay a visit to us.
