"No." Gerard replied bluntly.

Mason pushed his glasses up, a barely noticeable smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
This was precisely the result he had been waiting for.
"Now, I will announce the decision of the hearing."
Mason cleared his throat and said:
"In view of your repeated failures in numerous operations, causing extremely negative impacts on our country's reputation worldwide, Congress has decided to remove you from your position as Deputy Defense Minister."
Gerard sat in the chair, his expression unchanged.
This outcome was within his expectations.
For many years, Mason had coveted his position.
