I halted in my tracks. Gena almost bumped into me and Akira kept his hands in pockets and kept walking, lost in his own thoughts. Akira kept walking further, making me stare at his disconnected self in disbelief. But, comical. Not gonna lie.

I rolled my eyes and warned the guy who was fluttering lashes at me like I was his boyfriend.

Akira stopped in his tracks and Gena looked around to see what the sound was. The normal humans could hear it too.
"So I'm not the only one hearing it?" I asked aloud. Gena, behind me, shook her head.
Akira turned around to realize how far along he'd walked, away from us, absentmindedly.
"Um...is that from you, C-Cyrus?" Gena pointed to the little metal device that was glowing a cyan, strapped to his waist among many other survival tools.

He's got a gadget on him too.

Gena quickly realized what the little metal and carbon fiber object was.
"It's a Tele. From...Shifter Regime HQ..."
Gena was surprised and so were all three of us.
Except for the owner of that thing.
Cyrus looked pissed. Slightly. Annoyed, if I could say better. He clicked the little buttons on it as a hologram popped up from the camera.
"How's my big boy?" The lady smirking at him, asked.
Akira and Gena's jaws dropped to the floor.
I jumped up an eyebrow.
"Your big boy is super entertained, Ms. Cap'n."
It was Captain Janet...
They know each other? Seemed like loathesome acquaintances to me, but I could be wrong.
"I knew you'd be interested, Cyrus. Have fun. And keep them safe. As always." She instructed, all while smirking.
"And I see you've broken a rule there." Captain Janet added.
"Your new recruit is amazing. Had to reveal myself, couldn't help." He replied, making Captain Janet chuckle lowly.
"I knew about that too. They have 3 months of time for their mission. And I've got an offer for you too." Said Captain to Cyrus. I was curious and kept listening.
"Shoot."
"I'll let you on the next mission with the three if you get me what I want." Cyrus heard that and jumped in the air, bumping his fist to the sky. He was excited for this odd offer. I was dying to know what it was. Clearly, Cyrus was yearning for that for a long time.
