Lin Yin opened her eyes.
Her consciousness was somewhat blurred, as if she had just awakened from a nightmare. The dizziness lingered in her mind, and it took her a full three minutes before she could control her body.
"Why did I... pass out?"
She held her aching head and slowly sat up, realizing that she must have experienced something terrifying before she fainted.
In front of her was a dark ceiling, a thick and peculiar smell still lingering. She got out of bed and opened the door, only to find the hall empty. The clock on the wall was approaching midnight.
On the table in the hall, ten plates and dishes were still laid out, the food inside them already devoured. Only then did she remember what had happened — she fainted after eating this meal.
