At that moment, a series of hurried footsteps came from behind, followed by a shout.
"Su Mo!"
Su Mo stopped when he heard someone approaching, and he turned around.
He saw Qian Chengxue running towards him, slightly out of breath.
"Qian Chengxue, why are you here? Didn't you already leave?"
Su Mo was somewhat surprised, yet somewhat pleased.
"For you, when I got back home and saw you weren't there, I figured you must be preparing for battle."
Qian Chengxue handed over the steaming hot buns and soy milk she was carrying to Su Mo.
Touched by the gesture, Su Mo took the breakfast from Qian Chengxue and asked, "Did you go out early in the morning just to buy breakfast for me?"
"Yes, but not many shops were open today, so it took a bit of time," Qian Chengxue replied with a smile. She knew Su Mo was about to head to the main battlefield, so she wanted to make sure he had a warm meal to fill his stomach. Since she couldn't cook, she went out to buy it instead.
