Peggy pointed at the mouse in the cage, her slender finger hooking slightly.
"And then?" Seeing that the mouse did not move at all, Nora asked curiously.
"It's called 'Forbidden Death,'" Peggy said, "I've deprived it of its death."
She opened the cage, took the squeaking mouse in her hand, and twisted its head off in a single motion.
Despite being decapitated, the mouse's headless body still writhed, and the other half of its head continued to squeak... as if completely unaffected, causing the two onlooking girls to shiver instantaneously.
Nora took the mouse's body and carefully examined the wound, noticing that the heart was still beating and blood was flowing slowly from the cut. Logically, the mouse should have succumbed to death within a minute.
But it did not.
