Evan said that this Kaya person was a good friend of Elyana's, and Ardyn didn't doubt that one bit, but the fact remained that Kaya didn't know any of them. If she wanted to, she could rat them out easily, and that in itself posed a risk to their safety.
In the end, Ardyn just shrugged, though his expression was troubled. "Evan seemed to think so. But if the royal soldiers themselves are hunting us down, I'm not sure if she'd be quite willing to help at her own risk," he said, speaking his thoughts aloud. After all, nobody wanted to become an enemy of the royal family.
"If she hesitates or refuses, I'll do my best to persuade her," Leon suddenly said, glancing up at them with a somewhat determined look in his eyes. It seemed that he was in the middle of reading Evan's letter. "If she's really Elyana's friend, then she should understand and be trustworthy enough."
