'How can I let this happen…?'
Mira unconsciously took a step back.
Just the struggle of doing that, almost as if her body was turning to stone, reminded her further that she had fallen to Rex's ploy. 'When did he take the Silent Spore out? Where did he even hide it? He wore nothing, nothing! I should've seen it if he brought something!'
She couldn't believe that she got herself into this situation.
But once again, as Rex said, she underestimated him.
Had she listened to her gut, that there was something odd, she should've retreated first.
Instead of doing that, she attacked Rex and even attempted to inflict pain on him once she realized that he was not stronger than her. This situation was her own failure—there was nobody to blame other than herself.
Now, her vision of Rex changed dramatically.
For once throughout this entire battle, Mira felt something crippling inside her—fear.
