Chapter 14 - A month is too long

The hand that held her felt warm and comforting. She didn't jerk it away this time. Just stared at it.

" The doctor said you had been under stress or anxiety lately, it may have come out as a minor panic attack." He said.

"Hmm Maybe. I don't wanna talk about it. "

She said tiredly.

" Do you want to eat something ?, I had the kitchen prepare some light soup for you." He inquired.

" Whatever, I am not in the mood"

Her replied clearly indicated she didn't wanted to talk about this right now.

" Let's talk about something to lift your mood then !"

She lifted her eyelids to look at him. What was he getting at ?

" What did you talk to Dilawar ?"

"..."

A silence ensued.

What?

"Who?"

" Dilawar "

" I don't know who is that."

" The man you spoke to in the dining room at 11 :24 in the morning."

"...…"

" I - Umm — Nothin— really"

The man stared at her seriously. No hint of emotion on his face. The man who had be relentlessly giving in to her whims since she came here was nowhere to found. His aura was becoming suffocating.

Unconsciously, she gripped the duvet tightly.

" Umm.... Aghan ..."

" Yes"

" He was asking directions !"

"From you?"

"Ummm ….."

" …."

A knock sounded among this squabble and a meek little maid came in to deliver the soup.

Aghan sighed and retracted his aura. Her nutrition was the top priority right now. Unconsciously, but he might have again scared the girl.

" Finish your soup obediently. We'll talk about this later."

He stood up and went out of the room.

Ayla released a breath she didn't know she was holding. That caught her off guard. How can he know everything. What a terrifying man.

" I'll come back to check on you again. Eat and rest properly. "

His voice sounded by the door. Scared, she obediently completed the whole soup and even forgot about her earlier tiredness. Afraid he might come back and ask those questions again.

What should I say then?

Lie ? But what ?

Damnn!!!

I should've thought this through …

When will that guy come again ?

A month is too long.

She fell asleep again thinking about possible answers to give him in the morning.

What Ayla didn't realize was amongst her little schemings, she forgot her earlier dilemma, her delusions.

****************************

In the mid of the night, Aghan stood at the balcony looking in the directions of mountains.

He knew, it's just a matter of time before Dilawar knows her identity and brings the whole Malawar clan here.

" I have to secure her place here before the summon."

In a month.

She has to marry him.

" Good, sooner than later."
