Mo Xiuchen descended the stairs just as Miqin had finished a phone call and stood up from the sofa, feeling a dizzy spell assail her. She swayed and reached out to steady herself against the couch.
"Cheng Jia."
A low, magnetic voice emanated from behind her. Miqin, who was still steadying herself on the couch, instinctively responded and turned her head to see the tall figure standing in the stairway. She broke into a silly smile, "Mo Xiuchen, how did you recognize me?"
Mo Xiuchen didn't speak but simply walked over with heavy strides, his eyes darkly fixed on her.
"Mo Xiuchen, I truly love you."
Cheng Jia staggered drunkenly into Mo Xiuchen's arms. He stepped slightly to the side and caught her arm, preventing her from collapsing into his embrace.
"Mo Xiuchen, you haven't told me how you recognized me."
Mo Xiuchen released her hand with a flick, and Cheng Jia tumbled to the ground.
"Where is Momo?"
