Chapter 48 - A Mother’s Roar

Nendrerth left the, Flying off into the direction she had last seen her mother. Fear had set in the night before but thanks to Eaos, she was able to push it back for now. She could sense her mother's eyes on her even from this distance as she walks through the plains. This realm was much larger in comparison to Rahmiel's as well as Earth so summoning her true form to clear the distance would be easier, the only downside was that she needed to get away from the tower first before she could do this. She walks for what feels like hours, finally reaching the mountainous wall known as Valorns Ridge.

"This should be far enough." She tells herself softly then looks to the sky. "I hope the others won't hate me for this." Then closing her eyes, "Nendrerth's skin begins to shift to scales and her body begins to lift off the ground. A red sphere surrounds her then steam starts to fizzle off it. Within a miniute she now had her mountainous form. One that towered the mountain wall before her. She steps over the mountain and continues her long journey once more.

As the time flies, Nendrerth could tell now as she was getting closer to her mother. After leaving the bright and sunny valley the tower sat in, the dark mountainous region she now entered seemed like the complete opposite. Small Wyvern-like creatures flying through the sky around her, gliding past her giant spikes like they were trees in a forest for a small bird. Her mother always had her children nearby until her brother and herself. Her father had been tasked with Tower Security as well as keeping rivalry between the elders outside of the tower. Inside the tower was her brother who only focused on the tower with his partner Leo. With the deaths of her Gaelus and Drud, she knew her mother was going to be heartbroken… No. she'll want to take out her anger. As she thought about this, a thunderous roar boomed through the sky like a thunderstorm.

Nendrerth hears this and stops in her tracks as the fear sets in slowly. The aura of each and every elder in the realm was unique to one another which Nendrerth had grown accustomed to them so most didn't affect her. Her mother's however, was one that constantly changed depending on her mood.

As she stood there, she could see the fiery aura spread for miles upon miles. As she watches the aura burn through the sky, she could do nothing but watch. Watch and listen as she can faintly hear roars echoing through the sky. She was able to sense Fin's anger as she sat deep inside the tower, but this was a whole new level.

"I should've came sooner…." She spoke softly to herself before feeling a serpent with wings brush against her scales. The creature was small compared to her but knowing if she was in her human form it would have been massive.

"Mother is angry…" It said quietly, shivering against her as it landed on her shoulder. Nendrerth continued to her walk as she grew closer.

"I know little one. That is why I have come home…" She tells the little serpent to help calm it. Minutes have past as she could now see a mountain that pierced the sky. The fiery aura was now clearly emanating from within it. "She still lives in the mountain, I see." All of the small flying creatures now flew around Nendrerth and the serpent, screeching high pitches that sounds like cries of woe.

Nendrerth looks down for a moment, then shakes her massive head and continues toward the mountain.

Now that she was within feet from her destination, she takes a closer look at the old, massive mountain, fire and electricity spewed from every cave entrance. The mountain was many times larger than Nendrerth's true form so she knew she would have to change back. She then lowers her head to the main opening, greeting her with a double door gate the size of a house.

"I'm sorry little one but you must goto the gate…" She tells the serpent who whimpers but complies, slithering itself off her shoulder and glides down to the gate. Once it lands, her scales and spikes begin to burst into flames and spreads throughout her body leaving just her small human frame floating where the head once was. She glides down toward the serpent who can't help but hiss. As the giant serpent hisses, a dark ominous aura surrounds Nendrerth's her long hair begins to lift off her shoulders as she looks up to the creature. Her face was hidden by a shadow but only her glowing eyes could be seen.

"Do not forget, I am your eldest sister." She growls, causing the serpent to cower slightly. Her hair drops and her eyes quit glowing. She steps over to the serpent and gently places her hand against its side. "But you do not need to fear me." She tells the serpent, feeling it relax only to hear their mother roar again. Nendrerth takes a step toward the towering gate and presses one hand on each door, slowly pushing them open. Now the gate is open, she could hear her mother clear as day yelling with a low hiss.

"I will have that lying bastard for dinner!" The ground begins to shake beneath Nendrerth's feet. She looks at the serpent who cowers away from the gate then glides quickly glides away.

"Thanks for the comfort big guy…." With a heavy sigh, she knows she cannot delay any longer and forces herself to step into her mother's domain once again. It had been so long since she was home with her mother and brother but right now she needed to focus on her mother.

Nendrerth had been down the long rocky corridors of the mountain, passing pillars, stalagmites, and stalactites with each passing step until she reached another set doors far larger than the first. "This place really hasn't changed…" She tells herself once again before pushing the doors open.

"Who enters my domain without an invitation?!?!" The low, monstrous voice calls out.

"Who else would be brave enough to do so… Mother?" She asks. The massive room went quiet then shatters the silence as towering head slowly peaks out from below. Her head was scaly like Nendrerth's but instead only had two eyes. Her scales were bright as gold and shiners like diamonds. Nendrerth could see massive tears streaming from the cheeks of her mother.

"Daughter…. Is that you?"
