Akiol did not plan to immediately eliminate his enemies. Disheartening them and forcing them to give up was the opposite of his plan. Akiol needed them to focus him, to focus on expending all their effort towards hunting him. That way nobody had the idea of hunting a different wandering boss. Especially not Mira or Givale.
