Chapter 324 - Omake 13, Gacha world, CH.5: Ambush.

( Matt's POV )

Continuing my exploration of the dungeon I was now running for my life escaping a horde of monsters, the second floor of the dungeon was full of goblins but with Eris's map I was able to make quick work of them, and I reached the third floor.

The place was more connected tunnels but during my exploration I did not find any enemies, but as I approached the stairs red dots began to appear rapidly on the map and a horde of enemies descended on me, In these tunnels my earth Psynergy was extra effective and you used stone stakes sticking out of the walls to attack the enemy and create obstacles for them, but I ran out of juice and the enemies just kept coming so I ran away.

Matt: Eris, I need to buy something!

Eris: Right! A gateway stone can get you out of the lower levels of a dungeon.

Matt: No, I need more khiren water.

Eris: What!? You don't understand the danger you're in.

Matt: Trust me, I have a plan.

I looked at the map to find the larged room I had passed before, Eris beside me let out a grunt and then dropped two cards into my hands, I took both bottles at the same time and when I reached the open room I prepared my counterattack.

Putting two hands on the ground I created a pit at the entrance of the room with many pointed stakes at the bottom, then shoot some stone spikes in and around the tunnel to attack and create some smoke screens in the place.

The horde of monsters that was a combination of slimes and goblins came out of the cloud of smoke and fell straight into my trap, that maneuver alone reduced the number of enemies drastically but when one of the goblins jumped beyond the trap others began to follow its example but I was somewhat more battle-hardened than before.

When one of them jumped at me with a wooden mallet, I grabbed his hand in the sky and slammed him into the ground then exploded his head with a stomp, I quickly pulled out my gun and dumped an entire magazine into the oncoming goblins, I managed to take down four of them, and for the last one that came, I ran him through the chest with my sword, he was finished, but with the last bit of life he had, he stabbed his dagger into my chest, my chainmail stopped most of the attack but I wasn't used to pain either, the goblin who refused to stay quiet let out a mocking laugh as I growled in pain.

I created a psychic hand and with one squeeze I blew his head off, then I took out my axe and eradicated anyone who dared to enter the room, I took a long swing using my psychic hand cutting an entire row of enemies in half and when only a handful of red dots remained a shower of arrows fell on me, while I was busy with the nearby combatants, some goblins formed an arc formation on the walls of the room to attack, I ran to avoid the arrows but when I was looking up an attack came straight at me fast, a fireball hit me in the shoulder, burned my clothes and part of my face.

The person responsible for that attack was a goblin wearing some jewelry and a skull of an unknown creature as a mask, he was a shaman, with that attack my anger reached critical levels and I released a lot of my power along with a curse scream.

Matt: just die already!!

Stone stakes sprang up all around me, filling the room completely and impaling the remaining enemies, with no more red dots on the map, I leaned back on one of the stakes I had created and let out a long sigh.

Eris: Matt, I don't want to pressure you after all the effort you put in but you have to move to the stairs, enemies will respawn after a certain amount of time.

Matt: *sigh* I understand.

I followed Eris's advice but before I started moving I tried my healing abilities for the first time, when I concentrated, a circle of light appeared on the ground and I absorbed the energy of the earth to heal my wounds, my body felt like new and I had no problem reaching the stairs where I planned to take a short break but Eris had something to say.

Eris: Matt, go up to the next floor, I think I know what's coming.

My companion only wanted to guide me in the safest way so when she told me to go deeper into the dungeon I didn't question it, and as I went up to the next floor I immediately saw the stairs to the next floor, the fourth floor was a single large room with a wooden table and chairs, a fire pit in the center, and a pot for cooking simple meals.

Matt: what is this?

Eris: When a floor in a dungeon is too big or has too many enemies, it is taken from other floors and that results in floors like these, the dungeons follow certain metrics but there are also irregularities but I wouldn't let you enter a place like that for your first time.

Matt: Any idea what I should expect next?

Eris: The next floor is a boss floor.

Matt: Another tough battle is ahead, we'd better prepare.

The previous altercation left me with a good amount of loot, the monsters I defeated and some random quests I completed during my exploration left me with 10,170 Vic, 990 CC and 35 standard tickets.

Eris: I have to warn you, if you use the standard gacha inside a dungeon you will only be able to get items from that world.

Matt: If I'm lucky, I might gain mastery of another element; use 30 tickets.

Eris: Okay, here we go~

Eris moved in front of me and when I placed my hand on her the process of drawing cards began again and I could only clench my fists anticipating something good.
