"This story is of no use to me. What is the moral?" the prince asked.
"There is no specific lesson attached to this story, just an explanation. This is what happened to Bella," I explained.
I told him about how her mother was the one to kill his parents, but for a reason. He burst into rage and yelled at me, telling me that's more of a reason to kill her. He made the point of how the King and Queen treated us all in the palace, how we were all seen as family, and how the people of the kingdom don't matter as much as we do. I told him to calm down and listen closely.
"The people of the kingdom do matter. Maybe even more than the royalty because without a kingdom to rule, the royals are nothing but people. Without the king and queen, or someone in power, people tend to get out of hand. They fight, kill, steal, and do many other things to terrible to mention. That means that if the royalty does nothing, the kingdom will have nothing. Soon enough, they may just leave. Bringing the authority of royals down lower and lower. That's when the title doesn't even matter anymore. Therefore, you should work with the kingdom, not against it," I argued.
He took a deep breath in, and sighed. He realized what he was doing was not what he should be. It seemed almost too easy to persuade him. I stayed cautious, but for now, I should sleep with Bella. Make sure she is alright. I need to protect her.
