Before the ancient, mottled, and icy gateway stood two eerie figures.
These were two humanoid creatures, they wore no clothing, had limbs, trunks, and reproductive organs, some bloated and fat, like middle-aged men who regularly consumed fried foods, but unlike normal humans, their skin was smooth, devoid of any hair, only meat-pink patterns visible.
They stood one in front of the other, both facing forward, the "person" in front with its skull flipped open, the inner arm still vivid red, cupped in its hands, revealing what looked to be a fresh brain inside.
The one behind had the face of an old man, with a sallow complexion, eyes slightly open, filled with dullness and nihility, as if merely a walking corpse, an empty shell.
Yet this "shell" held a bone spoon in its hands, and in utter silence, spooned after spoon of the brain from the person in front into its own mouth, and then swallowed with an evidently labored "gulp".
