Underwater, unless they were particularly close to the big bomb, the fireball couldn't really harm the Naga.
The Naga, being deep water creatures, could live freely under the extreme pressures of the deep ocean, so a water explosion couldn't truly harm them.
Even the fragmented metal shrapnel at most caused them minor wounds.
But with the detonation of the big bomb, numerous nearly transparent steel needles dispersed like a torrential rain.
