Sam's declaration set the whole academy realm on fire.
Even with an event as grand as the conquest, had to take a backseat in importance because of Sam's actions.
Every academy held a secret meeting. Because the implication that Sam could easily kidnap an elder and then deal with that elder personally… its not a good feeling to have. Basically, Sam showed that the difference in cultivation levels doesn't matter much.
And if this ability, or means, or whatever the hell that he used… can be scaled and sold… it means a lot of elders would be fucked.
