After winning the Grand Jury Prize, Rowan do back into directing the movie but the media won't let him go one after another there was news about him the youngest Grand Jury Price winner was a newsworthy topic so how could they let him go so easily.

But thanks to his knowledge in disguise he fooled the media many times whenever he wanted to get away from them after sometime the news about him tight down as his men started to increase promotion of the movie "Paranormal Activity".

"Boss, our rating application has been sent to MAPP (Motion Picture Association of America), and the theater release time has been booked. As long as the rating results come out, it can be released on time." On the first day Rowan came back from the studio, Sean couldn't wait to come to his office to report.

""It's Friday, March 6th And I... only got one theater in California. Sorry, Boss." As the publicity effect of "Paranormal Activity" became better and better in various places, Sean became more and more confident. However, when it came to the theaters, he only drew a bad lot. He felt a little sorry for Rowan and the company's expectations.

The film industry is somewhat similar to the tourism industry. It is clearly divided into peak season and off-season. The box office revenue of one week in the peak season can easily exceed the revenue of one or two months in the off-season.

The peak season for movies every year starts with the summer season in June, and the period from January to December is the so-called award season. Many film festivals are held during this period, including the Golden Globe Awards, the Directors Guild of America Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and so on.

The finale of the award season is the famous Academy Awards held in July every year.

The period from March to June is the so-called off-season.

This is easy to understand, after all, after watching a whole season of Hollywood stars, people will always feel mentally fatigued, and they need to take a break for a month or two before they can accept the bombardment of blockbusters during the summer vacation.

In fact, during this period, neither the film companies nor the theaters take it too seriously. Even if some movies are released, they are just some unpopular movies used to fill this garbage time.

As for releasing "Paranormal Activity" in early March, a month later, it is obvious that the theaters only regard "Paranormal Activity" as a work to fill garbage time.

"Trash or diamond? Let's wait and see." Rowan said to himself with a domineering smile.

______________

On 6th March, Friday, the first day of the release of "Paranormal Activity".

The movie was shown at midnight and ended in the early morning of the next day, a total of three shows. This is completely garbage time for ordinary people to sleep. From this point of view, "Paranormal Activity" was really thrown into the garbage time of the garbage period.

Sean felt as if he was trapped in a swamp in his dream. Although he struggled desperately, the more he struggled, the deeper he sank. "Ah--!" Sean suddenly woke up from his nightmare and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

Although more than 10 million US dollars have been spent on a nationwide publicity campaign, from now on, the revenue, evaluation and influence of "Paranormal Activity" are completely out of human control, but Sean has to face it all. It's like forcing you to face Billy Herrington's dancing and Bear Grylls' eating.

After hesitating for a long time, Sean finally drove to Stark Pictures.

He sat in the parking lot for a while before he moved and walked into the Stark Pictures.

But as soon as he entered the office building, Sean's assistant ran up to him, looking breathless.

"Manager, you finally called." The subordinate's joyful voice came through immediately. Although he felt that the news must be good from his expression, Sean still secretly became nervous, "What's the situation?"

"The total attendance of one cinema chain yesterday was more than 8,600. Each cinema only gave us a 500-seat hall for the all-night show..." the subordinate chattered excitedly.

"Stop." Sean couldn't help but interrupt him and said, "In simple terms, how much is the box office? How is the attendance?"

"Yesterday's box office was $10,000, and the average attendance rate was 48%. We have nearly half of the attendance rate!!" The subordinate waved his hands excitedly, "Now all the theaters are asking for additional screenings, and they want us to rush to copy new film for them before tonight. Some new theaters also called and want to show Paranormal Activity next week. Now everyone is busy as hell!"

The relationship between film production companies and cinema chains is somewhat similar to the relationship between commodity manufacturers and large supermarket chains. If you are a large manufacturer yourself, then you certainly have the capital to bargain with the supermarkets.

But if you are just a small or medium-sized manufacturer, then you can imagine that even if you just want to be put on the shelves in a supermarket, you need to go through their picky and strict review before the other party decides whether to include you on the shelves.

And this does not take into account certain local "exorbitant taxes and fees" such as listing fees and festival fees.

So by the same token, in the Hollywood industry chain where profit is the only criterion for judging everything, small film companies have to build their own reputation before they can obtain better bargaining capital from major theater companies.

When Paranormal Activity's first-day box office of $10,000 (48% occupancy rate) was released, although the existing theaters added additional theaters for the film, the number of new theater requests was not as high as expected.

While Sean was anxiously negotiating with the cinema chain, the box office figures for the second day of Paranormal Activity came out, and everyone was shocked. The daily box office was 60,000, and the average attendance rate soared to over 60%! The midnight show was full to the 8th floor.

The existing cinema chain was completely excited. They immediately purchased additional movie copies from Stark Pictures and directly changed the midnight show to "Paranormal Activity: Midnight Horror Show", and used almost all of their theaters to play "Paranormal Activity" in a big way.

Just when Sean was still considering whether to negotiate with theaters outside California, the box office results on the third day (Sunday) shocked the theater chain and Stark Pictures. Just one theater received $90,000 in box office! The average attendance rate was close to 79%, and the first midnight show was 100% packed.

The entire Stark Picture group was completely stunned, even James Wan the Director who has started the production of the TV show was stunned for 5 minutes when he heard the news. Jon Hamn and Naomi Watts stared at the report in the newspaper in amazement. This result could only be described as horrific, and it was completely beyond everyone's imagination.

The cumulative box office of the first three days of the weekend finally reached 100,000 US dollars. Although this box office is nothing when viewed alone, when combined with the number of theaters where it was released, 1 theater! Everyone was immediately scared to death. The box office of a single theater actually reached a rare 170,000 US dollars.
